Virginia Pick 3 Overview

Pick 3 is a Virginia Lottery game which gives you the freedom to choose how you want to play, and even how much you want to spend per game.

  • You are required to pick three digits between 0 and 9, while you also have to choose your play type from the following options:
  • Exact Order: You are predicting that your three numbers will be drawn in the same order as you have selected them.
  • Any Order: This is a prediction that your three digits will all appear in the draw. The order does not matter.
  • 50/50: Half of your money goes on an Exact Order play, and half on Any Order.
  • Combo: Every combination of a three-number prediction is entered as a separate Exact Order play.
  • Pair: Try to match just two of the three numbers in the exact order. Specify either Front (first two numbers), Split (first and last numbers) or Back (last two numbers).

You can spend $0.50 or $1 per play in Pick 3. You can also add Fireball to your play to give you more chances to win. The Fireball is a fourth number, also drawn from 0 to 9, which can be used to replace any of the numbers that appear in the draw. This creates more winning combinations, but doubles the cost of entry.
