Cash Five History
Cash Five was originally styled as ‘Cash 5’ when it launched ahead of its first draw on October 13, 1995. It was a 5/39 game, with draws taking place twice a week on Tuesdays and Fridays. Two more draw days, Mondays and Thursdays, were added in November 1996.
On June 29, 2002, the lottery was rebranded as Cash Five and the format tweaked again, with players now required to pick five numbers from 1 to 37. Wednesday and Saturday draws were added to the schedule, and a prize for matching two numbers was introduced.
The ball pool was cut from 37 to 35 on September 23, 2018, while the fixed prize structure was also introduced.
