Australia Monday Lotto
The Australian Monday Lotto is one of the main lottery games played in Australia and, as its name suggests, takes place once a week. The Monday Lotto is a single-drum game requiring players to select eight numbers from a pool of 45. The first six numbers drawn are the main numbers, with the remaining two numbers being the supplementary numbers. In order to win the jackpot, known as the Division 1 prize, players must match all six main numbers.
The jackpot prize is fixed at AUD$1 million for every draw and, if there are more than four jackpot winners, the AUD$4 million prize pool is shared between all jackpot winners. There are an additional five prize tiers offering secondary prizes to players who match fewer numbers.

Australian Monday Lotto History
The Australian Monday Lotto was launched in November 1979 and was originally run by the New South Wales Lotteries. In November 1984 a second weekly draw was added and while the Wednesday Lotto draw shares the same format, they each have their own prize pool.
In May 2006, the game expanded its operational area to include South Australia and Western Australia. Tattersall’s, a lottery company based in Tasmania and Victoria, then began selling tickets in October 2008. Golden Casket, a company operating lottery games in Queensland, then joined in the Monday Lotto from October 2013.
The first player to win the Australian Monday Lotto jackpot was Sam Fabio, a Western suburbs truck driver, who won AUD$1,185,872 in March 1980.
The second supplementary number was added in August 1990, whilst an additional ball created a larger main ball pool in April 2004. Between April 2004 and May 2006 a Cash Roll Down feature was introduced whereby, if the jackpot was not won, the prize would roll down to be shared between players in the remaining prize tiers.
In February 2012 the Division 6 prize was introduced.
